After sharing the small screen multiple times, the heartthrob, Ahsan Khan and the starlet, Neelam Muneer signed Mohsin Ali’s action-comedy film, Chupan Chupai. But the duo returns to the small screen with Faisal Bukhari’s upcoming serial, Kaisi Khushi Laya Chand.

The serial features an ensemble star cast including, Shabir Jan, Vasay Chaudhry, Seemi Raheel, Alyy Khan, Saleem, and Sabahat Bukhari.

To my surprise, the serial is not your stereotypical run-off-the-mill project, but seems like a promising blend of romance and drama.

While speaking to HIP from the sets of the serial, Ahsan Khan revealed;

“The story of the play surrounds a family, and has tons of drama, emotions and family politics in it. It’ll be relatable for the viewers and I’m sure people will religiously follow it once it goes on-air. Besides that, we’re working with a veteran director [Faisal Bukhari]. He has several films under his credit and I started my career with him, and I know that he’s a brilliant director and cinematographer, definitely one of the best we have.”

The actor further revealed that this will be his third television project after Udaari and Saya-e-Deewar, and will shoot for another project opposite the Aap Ki Anaya fame actress, Rabab Hashim next month in the scenic beauty of Nathia Gali (a hill station).

Interestingly enough, the writer of Kaisi Khushi Laya Chand is none other than Khalid Azmi, the man behind Kapil Sharma’s witty dialogues in the popular show, Comedy Nights With Kapil, and now, The Kapil Sharma Show.

The shoot is currently underway and the serial will air on A-Plus and an international channel later this year. We wish the cast and the crew all the luck, and hope to see a blockbuster serial hit our screens soon!
