Set In the late 1970s, the story of HUM TV newest period drama, Choti Si Zindagi focuses on teen marriages. The story unfolds in a small village and revolves around Urwa and Ameena. Urwa is a teenager and studies in the city but his narrow-minded father, in fear of losing his son, gets him engaged to his niece Ameena and notifies him via a letter. After a failed attempt to talk to his father about this engagement against his will, Urwa has no choice left but to marry Ameena, leave her with his parents to enjoy his life in the city where he has an affair with his classmate Azra.

Choti Si Zindagi will air on 27th September 2016 replacing Zara Yaad Kar. The cast includes Shehzad Sheikh, Iqra Abdul Aziz, Syed Afraz Rasool, Kiran Shahid, Asma Saif, Farah Shah, Nimra Khan, Tahira Imam, Sameer Ahmed, Sohail Masood and Neelum Gul amongst others. Written by Sarwat Nazir & produced by MD Productions, the serial picks up yet another sensitive topic after the controversial Udaari.

Will Urwa find his way out of this forced marriage or will he succumb to his family’s pressure and honor?

After a well-received coming of age drama, Dreamers, the actor went on to star in several hit serials including the ensemble project, Ainee Ki Aayegi Baraat alongside his father, Bushra Ansari, Naveen Waqar and others.

Choti Si Zindagi is a period love story set in the 80’s. It revolves around a small town boy who lands in the city of Karachi. And while his intention is to widen his horizon, he gets caught up with family problems and ends up facing backlash for his efforts,” the young actor explained.

While explaining why he signed the project, Sheikh said, “The story itself was promising enough for me to do the project. I have always gone after projects that help me diversify myself as an actor, and this serial gives me an opportunity to do so.”

Choti Si Zindagi (Urdu: چھوٹی سی زندگی‎; lit:The Little Life) is an upcoming Pakistani drama serial that will be aired on Hum TV in mid-September.
