There were a lot of eyebrows raised at Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde’s recently released Mohenjo Daro. The film depicted the times of thousands of years old Indus Valley Civilization, and a lot of people pointed out fingers at the movie being factually incorrect. In fact, people even accused the film’s director Ashutosh Gowariker for not doing his research properly for the film. And now it seems like even Pakistani Minister, Sardar Ali Shah, is also mighty pissed because of the same reason.
Sindh Minister for Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Sardar Ali Shah has strongly reacted to Mohenjo Daro and has asked the director to tender an apology for distorting facts.
According to a TOI report, Shah said that this film has made a mockery of a highly developed culture of the 5000-year-old civilization.
He said that he would soon communicate Sindh’s reaction and objections to ‘the director concerned.’ According to Shah, the movie depicted nothing but figments of imagination of filmmakers and had nothing to do with the history of Mohenjo-Daro. He added that the world had widely acknowledged the importance of the heritage sites of Sindh, which was evident from the fact that Makli necropolis and Mohenjo-Daro had been included in the list of international heritage sites and UNESCO was caring for them in coordination with the government.
