Yes Sir, I mean it. The music and friendship night, organized by the Korean consul general Kim Dongi at a local hotel here Thursday night was a fairytale event, nothing short of it. A group of five Korean girls, attired in Pakistani shalwar kamzeez, waved the Pakistan flag to sing the famous national song “ Jeewey, jeeway Pakistan. Jeeway Pakistan”.
Their chorus was a matter of delight and pride for the packed the capacity Marquee Hall of the hotel. They cheered and clapped in unison as the five girls, and three males combined in a song that has long been favourite for the Pakistani media, and the people.
The concert was a combination of 8 Koreans from an opera in Italy, and two Koreans living here, ten in all. The group, individually and collectively, was tremendous professionals and did their job to the fullest delight of the fans. The beginning was made by a brief speech from the consul general who stressed that people to people contact was essential for building ties on economic, cultural and many others fields. The spectrum is vast and with political will on both sides, can grow into a force to reckon with.
He said Korean consulate, which they call as Karachi office of the Embassy of Republic of Korea, Islamabad, had been organizing cultural events. His sentiments were reciprocated by the Sindh Minister for Culture Sardar Shah who called for promoting tourism and cultural ties, promising maximum cooperation from the provincial government to help achieve the objective.
In all 13 items were performed vocally to the tune of a piano. Ten. Kim Minseob was yet another male artiste singing the Pakistani song “yeh Watan Hamara Hai” to the utter joy of the people.

They all were impressive with their deliveries.
The function was principally funded by the Korean Foundation, and organized in association with the Korean Consulate general in Karachi.
A galaxy of eminent persons including consuls general of japan Isumora, his wife, of Indonesia Hadi Santoso and wife Wati, Bangla Desh consul general Noor-e-Helal, of Russian federation Oleg Avedeeev, his second in command Andre Federov, Edward Burkhalten, and Anthony Deen from US consulate were prominent. Businessmen like Mirza Ikhtiar Beg, former senator Haseeb Khan, and many others were among the over 500 to 600 guests enthralled by the memorable performance.
