Following the terror attack at Uri, Jammu and Kashmir on September 18, a large number of Indians, supported by political parties such as the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) threatened Pakistani actors to leave the country.
There was a lot of uproar and anger over the deafening silence of Pakistani artists working in India regarding the Uri attacks and the retaliatory surgical strikes of September 29 by the Indian Army.
Through a Facebook post on Saturday, Mahira Khan has finally put a rest to all the complaints over her silence on India-Pakistan tension.
Fawad Khan’s Facebook comment on terrorism was dismissed as ‘diplomatic’
Mahira Khan wrote that as a Pakistani and a global citizen, she strongly condemns any and all acts of terror, regardless of where the terror attack has taken place.
She added that she shall not rejoice in bloodshed and war and that she is always praying and hoping for peace.
Her Facebook post reads: “In the 5 years that I have been working as an actor I believe that I have tried my best to keep my country’s respect intact – by being a professional, and by representing Pakistan here and elsewhere to the best of my abilities.
As a Pakistani and citizen of the world I strongly condemn any act of terror, any loss of human life no matter which soil it is on. I will not rejoice in bloodshed and war.”
