Priyanka Chopra extends support to Pakistani actors family, wedding pictures, age, height, weight, biography
Actress Priyanka Chopra who is currently busy shooting for her upcoming Hollywood venture ‘Baywatch’ has raised her voice in support of Pakistani actors working in Indian film industry.
She said, “It’s tricky because first of all artistes and actors are always held responsible for every bigger political agenda that happens in our country. Why are only we reflecting it? Why not businesses, why not doctors, why not politicians,” Indian media reported.
“We always lose our focus because that makes noise. This is not at all an issue. This is entertainment. This is business. People buy ticket, watch a movie for three hours and come away. Done,” she added.
Since the terror attack in India last month, India has been calling for ban on all Pakistani content and Pakistani actors working in India, accusing Pakistan of every terrorist activity in the region.
She also added, “I am extremely patriotic. So, whatever my government decides is important to keep the country safe. I go with that, but at the same time, I don’t believe that artistes are a representation of — at least there hasn’t been an actor who has done something which has harmed someone’s life out of malice or anything.”
Recently, Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India announced it won’t release films featuring Pakistani artistes in four states– Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Gujarat.
