MUMBAI (Dunya News) – The annual film festival in Mumbai has dropped a Pakistani movie from its list on Monday.

The 1959 classic “Jago Hua Savera” was to be screened at the festival but after the complaints from an Indian NGO called Sangharsh, the organisers of the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival decided that the film will not be showed.

The story of the film revolves around the life of fishermen living in East Bengal.

Before this, the Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI) announced that Indian films having Pakistani artists will not be screened in the cinemas.

The films affected by the decision will be Fawad Khan’s “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” and Mahira Khan’s “Raees”.
