After facing backlash for working with Pakistanis, ADHM makers possibly thought it was the safest thing to do.
Mumbai: Last two months have been extremely tough and emotionally-draining for the makers of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (ADHM), who were subjected to harsh criticism for working with Pakistani actors.
In response to a Facebook comment, actor Imran Abbas Naqvi, who plays the role of Anushka’s boyfriend in ADHM, said that 4 of his scenes have been chopped out of the movie.
He wrote: “4 scenes are not even in the movie Rabiya!!! Enjoy the remaining few ones (sad smiley)”
Imran debuted in Bollywood opposite Bipasha Basu in ‘Creature 3D’ and was also seen in ‘Jaanisaar’ alongside Pernia Qureshi. Abbas is said to be a big star in Pakistani film and television industry.
In this video he is seen rehearsing for ‘The Breakup Song’. But we do not even catch a glimpse of him in the video, was he dropped from the song too?
Although he has repeatedly urged his fans to watch ADHM, Imran will not be seen in the movie for too long.
In the wake of Uri attacks, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had given a 48-hour ultimatum to Pakistani actors to leave India and threatened of dire consequences if anyone works with Pakistani artists again.
MNS had opposed to the release of this film because of Fawad Khan playing a pivotal role in it. In fact, as per MNS’s demand, Karan Johar agreed to pay 5 Cr to National Defence Fund as a mark of respect and also promised never to work with Pakistani actors.
The film released on October 28 and has received reasonably good response at the box office.
