All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination
(For Admission to 50% MD/MS/DIPLOMA COURSES Seats of All India Quota)
The Government of India established the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in 1975 with the objective of improving the quality of the Medical Education by establishing high and uniform standards of postgraduate examinations in modern medicine on All India Basis and utilizing existing healthcare infrastructure for capacity building.
National Board of Examinations conducts entry and exit examinations at Postgraduate, Post Doctoral level and licensing examinations as Screening Test for Indian Nationals with Foreign Medical Qualifications
The National Board of Examination has been notified by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to conduct a competitive entrance examination on All-India Basis for admission to All India 50% quota MD/MS/Diploma Seats (except for colleges located in Jammu & Kashmir and Erstwhile Andhra Pradesh).
The entrance examination will be governed by the rules and regulations specified by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare/Directorate General Health Services/and orders of Hon’ble Courts.
Duration of the Courses:
Three years from the date of admission. Candidates are eligible for admission
after completion of compulsory rotating internship.
Two years from the date of admission after completion of compulsory rotating
The scheme for selection of candidates for admission to All India 50% quota MD/MS/Diploma Seats- Admission Session shall be applicable to all Medical Colleges/Institutions throughout the country and no Medical College/Institution shall hereafter conduct competitive entrance examination of its own for these seats on all-India basis, except the States of Jammu & Kashmir and Erstwhile Andhra Pradesh which have been excluded by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India vide their judgement dated 21.07.1986 (Writ Petition (Civil) no. 348-352 of 1985 in the matter of Dr. Dinesh Kumar & ORS vs Moti Lal Medical College Allahabad & ORS). Therefore, the students having passed their MBBS examination from any Institution in these two States shall not be eligible to participate in the 50% All India Competitive Entrance Examination for selection of candidates against these seats.
However, the candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (under Central pool seats) to do MBBS from Medical Colleges in Erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir shall be eligible to apply for admission, subject to submission of a bond on a Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 10/- to this effect. A copy of the nomination letter must be attached with the bond.

Eligibility Criteria (Read more details)
Candidates must have done MBBS degree, Provisional MBBS from a reputed institute under Indian Medical Council Act.
The candidate who wants to apply for this examination, he/she must have MBBS’s permanent or provisional registration certificate which must be issued by the Medical Council of India.
Interested candidate must have completed one year of internship on or before 31stMarch.
AIPGMEE registration procedure will tentatively will be started from 3rd week of September, after that interested candidates may go for online registration. Offline applications will not be accepted for AIPGMEE. You can pay the fee via online gateways such as Credit or Debit card which must be issued by Indian banks. The application form fee will be Rs. 3750 for all the candidates who belong to general category.

The selection of the candidates will be based on qualifying marks of the candidates however more than half of the All India Quota Seats are reserved via online counseling.
The questions will be based on the subjects taught in MBBS such as para-clinical, pre-clinical and clinical.
The examination will be conducted via online mode.
There will be total 300 MCQs that mean you will be having four options and you have to choose the correct one.
The examination will be conducted in English subject.
There will be no negative marking.

AIPGMEE Admit Card will be released online and it would only be issued to those candidates who have registered themselves and payed the application fee. Applicants can download the admit card of All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) from official website and it is necessary to carry it on the date of the examination because it is being scrutinised by the invigilator before entering the examination hall. Before 10 or 15 days to the examination, the admit cards get uploaded to the official site by the official authority members.

After giving your examination, one thing everyone be worried about – Result. As per the sources, the AIPGMEE result will be scheduled to be out on or before January. To qualify this examination, General category candidates have to get 50% of marks, candidates who belong to the reserved category, they need to get 40% of marks and disable candidates need to get 45% in the qualifying examination.
