In Review : Ghayal needs to bring back the psychotic Adil soon lyrics, OST title song mp3 download, cast, timings, drama review, written update (source: hipinpakistan)
When we first began watching Ghayal on ARY Digital we enjoyed the play because it was moving at a fast pace, and Gohar Mumtaz as the psychotic Adil, had us sitting on the edge of our seats. But 19 episodes down, the charm of the play seems to have vanished as the story has just become a drag. Here’s a look at what has happened up till now:
Adil and Tooba (Sumbul Iqbal) are childhood friends and both share a very friendly relationship with each other. Tooba also has a sister Maira, who is engaged to her Phupus son Faiz (Tipu Shareef). Things change when the family comes down from America for their wedding.
Here, Faiz’s younger brother Moiz (Asad Siddiqui) confesses his love for Tooba, and the two get engaged. Now, this doesn’t go down well with Adil, who has loved Tooba ever since they were kids. Filled with rage and jealousy Adil kidnaps Tooba and ends up raping her so no other man will agree to marry her.

Up till this point, the character of Adil was portrayed to be a very decent and loving guy, hence it was a shock when his disturbed personality is revealed. After the traumatic experience, Tooba returns back home and no one knows Adil was the one who kidnapped her. However, Adil’s mother catches up to her son’s plans, but being the emotional mother she is, she decides to stay quiet.
As expected, Moiz leaves Tooba when he finds out she has been raped and as the plot moves forth, Tooba’s mother finds out the truth about Adil. Angry and heartbroken, Tooba’s mother Khadija, forces Adil to leave the country forever before she tells everyone what he has done. We liked how a simple woman like Khadija stood up for her daughter and how the entire family took Tooba back in with open arms instead of casting her aside.

With Adil gone (for the time being) things seem to be getting normal for Tooba as her friend Kiran’s brother Umair (Abdullah Ejaz) begins to take interest in her and sends a proposal. Fortunately, her parents make the right decision and plan to reveal Tooba’s past to Umair and his sister so he can get into the marriage knowing everything.
This is how it all went down; basically Maira writes Umair a letter telling him the truth, whereas, Tooba confides in Kiran and tells her everything. Things take a positive turn for Tooba as Kiran decides to support Tooba instead of judging her for something that wasn’t her fault to begin with. With Umair still not having read the letter and Tooba’s mother passing away due to a heart attack (thanks to Phupu’s sarcastic remarks) it still remains a mystery whether Tooba will ever find happiness. Will Umair stay with her or abandon her like Moiz did?
The story of Ghayal, written by Shugufta Bhatti, touches a realistic topic that those whom we trust the most are sometimes the ones who also end up hurting us. It also highlights how one can never be sure of anyone’s character. For instance, Adil was their family friend and he grew up with Tooba. Who could have imagined he would cause her so much mental and physical pain.
The play produced by iDream Entertainment and directed by Furqan Siddiqui, has utilized Gohar Mumtaz brilliantly as he has bought so many shades of Adil’s twisted personality. One second he is an obedient son and the other minute he is a devil who is tormenting Tooba. The highlight of Ghayal is in fact, Mumtaz’s acting and we miss his presence in the last few episodes that were aired.
Liking the story so far? Tune into ARY Digital this week to watch Ghayal on Thursday at 8 pm, and see what happens in Tooba’s life next. Will she live happily ever after with Umair or will Adil return and ruin this wedding for her too?
