Breaking away from cliched narratives, Noman Ijaz is on a roll to do other than ordinary roles. After playing a brooding character in Khan he is now going to play a man who is going through a midlife crisis.

Sawera Nadeem is famously known for playing various versatile characters but what remains the most famous in recent years was her character in ‘Bari Aapa‘ in which she also starred opposite Noman Ijaz. The dynamic actors are going to share the small screen again for ‘Daagh‘ directed by Zeeshan Khan.

The story is about an issue that is least talked about, labelled as a mental disorder, in fact considered ‘not an issue’ : Midlife crisis. This is possibly something almost every human being goes through between the age of 40 to 60. It is the constant feeling of not being good enough, not having done enough and feeling insufficient.

The purpose to put out a narrative of such sorts is to create awareness between families and help them realize that midlife crisis is in fact, a change in behaviour where one might feel depressed or anxious while others might feel the need to achieve something and be youthful. The drama hopes to address the issue and help the ones whose family members undergo this.

The drama however, only intends to highlight midlife crisis issues of men and not women as quoted in Dawn Images.

Will this be another flag bearer of patriarchy? We will have to wait till the drama releases and see for ourselves.
