LAHORE: (Web Desk) – Indian film star Aamir Khan has refused to film his record-breaking Dangal in Pakistan after Pakistani censor board demanded omitting scenes displaying Indian flag and playing India’s national anthem.

Hindustan Times on Thursday reported that a ‘surprising’ demand came from Pakistan censor board of omitting Indian flag and national anthem from the movie for issuing it the clearance for release in Pakistan.

Aamir Khan is reported by the newspaper as saying that the demand was surprising and thus he had refused to screen the film in Pakistani cinemas.

The newspaper said that Pakistan was an important international territory for Indian cinema and the refusal to release the film there might cause an economic loss of around 100 to 120 million Indian rupees to the film producers but Aamir felt that the anthem only highlighted Indian nationalism, not any anti-Pakistan sentiment at all.

Although Aamir Khan hasn’t personally commented on the issue but as per the information currently available, Dangal is not going to be released in Pakistan.
