Yakeen Ka Safar has managed to keep us hooked well into its second week. The drama is beginning to unfold the true realities of the characters and we’re curious as to how the three different scenarios will connect to form one story.
This week’s episode kicked off with Zubia (Sajal Ali), narrating a story of how her father killed her mother, to Khala Ami. Khalil’s (Ehtashamuddin) true colors were brought forward, which immediately made us dislike him. Also, we now know Khalil is a rather insecure person, trying to conceal the fact that he’s responsible for his wife’s murder.
As far as the family is concerned, we’re still trying to figure out why Khalil’s son (Rehan) is so spineless, he didn’t even react to his father killing his mother. Is he that dependent on him financially that he couldn’t even get an FIR registered against his mother’s death? Also, Zubia may seem meek for now, but we sense that her quietness simply signals a storm. She is a ticking time bomb, who will give her father a difficult time, once everything falls in place.
In a parallel world, Gaiti and Daniyal are absolutely adorable. We love how Daniyal, despite being a workaholic, loves to spend time with his wife. The romantic vibes the couple gives off are so true to life, it makes us fall in love with the characters. We love Hira Mani and Shaz Khan as the couple.
Faryal and Asfand’s story is sure to take a turn. Asfand appears to be a compassionate, well behaved guy, whereas Faryal is not only immature, but spoiled and impulsive too. We’re certain Asfand will start having second thoughts about witnessing Faryal’s angry outburst at the restaurant. We already don’t like Faryal much so perhaps it will be good riddance for Asfand.
Noori didn’t receive much screen time this week, but we know she was gang raped. She is shown reunited with her family after gaining consciousness at the hospital.
Judging from the promos, we’re looking at a rebellious nature taking form amongst Noori and Zubia, because albeit different locations, they both will strive to have their offenders served justice. They will go against anyone that tries to stop them.
This week’s highlights were without a doubt, Ehtashamuddin and Sajal Ali. Ehtashamuddin has taken full ownership of Khalil’s character as we despise him now. Sajal Ali as Zubia, also gives a commendable performance, managing to stand out amongst the star studded cast of the show. So stay tuned and watch how things turn out in the coming week.
